In the first half of 2026, GAC’s overseas wholesale and end-user retail volumes doubled year-on-year. Total exports reached 121,483 units, nearly matching the full-year export volume of last year, with a significant 132% year-on-year increase, marking a major milestone.
The Asia-Pacific region delivered multiple market breakthroughs and hit new record highs in market share. The Hong Kong (China) market stood out with remarkable results: GAC electric vehicles ranked second among Chinese brands and third across all automotive brands from January to February, and March wholesale volumes neared 2,000 units to achieve an unprecedented historic milestone. In April, after Hong Kong fully phased out its EV trade-in subsidy scheme and entered the post-subsidy era, GAC defied market headwinds to claim the No.1 sales position for private electric passenger cars. Its current cumulative market share has exceeded 11%, meaning one out of every ten new vehicles sold in Hong Kong is a GAC model.
Singapore’s June sales rose 77% month-on-month and 30% year-on-year, and the brand secured second place among local pure electric vehicle brands in April with a market share of nearly 7%. Thailand’s June sales jumped 207% month-on-month and 15% year-on-year, holding No.1 market share in the electric taxi segment with an ever-widening lead. In addition, Malaysia’s April sales rose 900% year-on-year, Indonesia’s April sales grew 338% year-on-year, and GAC consistently ranks among the top three Chinese automotive brands in Cambodia, bringing broad-based growth across the entire Asia-Pacific region.
GAC also earned global recognition for quality and strength. In Thailand, GAC led all Chinese brands in three-year residual value. The AION UT continued its strong momentum, taking No.1 sales position in the pure electric hatchback in Hong Kong and Singapore, with over 600 pre-orders in Australia, and the top spot in export growth for Chinese A0 electric hatchbacks in May. The AION V also hit new overseas sales highs, was shortlisted for Drive’s Car of the Year 2026, and won “No.1 Elite Electric SUV” in Hong Kong.
As GAC International closes out a strong first half, the brand continues to accelerate its global expansion across key Asia-Pacific markets.
